Writer's Summit Tip #5:

Handle writer's block creatively...

Write something else or imagine one of your characters in an unusual situation (not in your book). Put them in a predicament where their true colors have to come out and imagine what they do. Put them in a life threatening situation or have an old love show up or a new enemy show up and see what you learn about them. Don't worry about writing it, just imagine it and get to know your character better. It will give you a fresh perspective.

Angel on Board was originally released in 1998. It has gone through many evolutions to get to its coveted 'Most Positive Book Ever Written Status.'

The author took 3 years for EJ Thornton to write it and she wrote it completely in secret. She had to because her then alcoholic husband was the antagonist of the book. She wrote it to him, hoping he would read it someday and understand that when he used grief as an excuse to stay drunk, he WAS NOT honoring those who had passed on.

Unsuccessful in that quest, the author released it to the world, where it was received with open arms and the healing power of its pages became immediately and perpetually apparent.

It is a fantastic, fun and easy read - at the surface level, but it is a healer when it gets into the hands of anyone with an unresolved grief issue, even if the only reason the grief is unresolved is that it is recent.

Virtually all recent medical research on aging points to the fact that the human animal, you and me included, has the potential to live up to 120 years of age.

That means 120 active, happy and productive years ... not years in a rocking chair, wheel chair or nursing home. That being the case, THE SECOND HALF of our lives does indeed BEGIN AT 60.... However, since most of us have spent the first part of our lives mistreating our God given equipment, this human body of ours; so we may not all make it to 120. But the good news is that most of us should be able to make it to 100 and well over. Writer's Summit Tip #21:


Plan out your first 3 print runs. You should be able to sell out your first print run in 90 days. Print only as many with each run (no matter your ability to afford more) as you can sell in 90 days.

Print turn around time should be no more than 2 weeks. If your book's demand suddenly goes up, you can be ready in as little as two weeks. Don't print a run of 5000 if you can only sell 100 in 90 days. You'll frustrate yourself and end up resenting your book for costing you so much money. The daunting task of seeing a return on investment for 5000 books is staggering. It is much easier to see a return (even if it is a smaller margin per book) on a run of 250.

Plan out your first 3 print runs, and if something wonderful happens, the most you'll be backordered by is 2 weeks!
